Overview
Established in 1974, Dacro Industries Inc. is a leading custom fabricator of pressure vessels for the resource industries. We have unique capabilities for mechanical design and fabrication of pressure vessels with large diameter, heavy wall, complex geometry, and unique materials.
Welders at Dacro are trained to meet the unique requirements of the vessels we build. We have specialized training for welders which includes both theory and hands on components. The goal is to develop each welder to meet their potential. We are currently working on projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Hydrogen, Bio-Diesel, and Carbon Capture. We are looking for welders in both our Edmonton and Tofield locations.
Compensation Details
- Welder compensation is highest of industry segment
- 5% Statutory Holiday pay
- 4% Vacation pay
- Hourly RRSP Contributions (after 60 days employment)
- Health/Dental/STD/LTD Benefits Package (after 60 days employment)
Reporting Relationships
All positions will report directly to the applicable Production Foreman.
Overall Scope of the Positions
The B Welder is responsible for completing the integral welds of a pressure vessel within tolerances and as per weld procedures specified. The B Welder uses multiple welding processes to complete the weld joints.
The Journeyman is responsible for completing non-pressure welds as well as assisting in other areas consistent with his experience and training. The Journeyman may have the opportunity to gain a welding certification based on aptitude.
The Apprentice is responsible for assisting in and completing all types of activities under the direction and supervision of a Journeyman. The Apprentice may have the opportunity to gain a welding certification based on aptitude.
Skills Required or Developed
The following qualifications are desirable to ensure success in this position.
Alberta B-Pressure certificate required (B-Pressure Welder)
- Valid Journeyman Trade Certificate recognized in the province of Alberta (Journeyman Welder)
- Enrollment in an accredited apprenticeship training program (Apprentice Welder)
- SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding
- Operating overhead crane
- Operating forklift, elevated work platform
- Reading fabrication drawings
- Rigging
- Fitting
